CHLAMYDIA SCREENING SUPPORTED BY PATIENTXT
System use:
The team has been successfully using Patientxt – Web since October 2007, significantly improving patient communications and in particular the sending of results. The clinic use the group messaging function to bulk send results to specific patient groups. The system allows for message
templates to be created that remove any errors within the content, then schedule the texts to be sent at convenient times.
The system has extensive audit and governance reports that let the users check on the delivery of messages.
Provider Benefits:
The system is easy to use, improving the amount of results delivered quickly to patients with substantial cost benefits compared to letters. The service provides improved confidentiality for patients compared to calling a landline or posting a letter.
It has proven to be very reliable, the only errors occur via human input or forms filled in ineligible. We also use the system to send ad hoc messages responding to patient’s requests for contact numbers and addresses of treatment sites.
Patient Benefits:
The service is very popular with the vast majority of forms giving the mobile number as preferred method of contact. It is extremely inclusive with over 90% of patients having a mobile and happy to receive the service.
Trust Comment:
“The system is easy to use and has significantly improved our communications with patients whilst reducing costs. It is popular with both staff and patients.”

Healthcare Comment:
“We have been providing Patientxt to a large number of clients within the sexual health sector since 2004, successfully sending over 3 million test results to patients. We have consistently proven that the service can be deployed to areas that require a high degree of care within the message content, improving care delivery and reducing costs.”
